Vintage German Shotgun Shell Puller – Horn Scales

Sold

Description

A classic vintage German lever lock switchblade manufactured in Solingen, widely regarded as the historic centre of Germany’s blade-making industry.

This C16 pattern automatic knife features the traditional lever lock mechanism — where lifting the front bolster lever both releases and locks the blade securely into the open position. A distinctive feature of this model is the integrated shotgun shell puller cut-out in the blade, originally intended as a practical field utility for sportsmen and hunters needing to extract stubborn cartridge casings.

Fitted with genuine horn handle scales, this example reflects the quality materials and craftsmanship typical of early Solingen-made automatics. While the exact production date is unknown, knives of this style were most commonly produced in the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1970s), prior to later widespread use of synthetic handle materials.

A desirable vintage automatic for collectors of European switchblades, hunting knives, or traditional Solingen lever locks.
