This is an Early type Volunteers Victorian Snake Buckle Leather Belt in good condition for age as pictured.
These also were worn in WW1 and this one is New Zealand Broad Arrow stamped N/I\Z and seen on some WWI New Zealand Soldiers Photos as well as Volunteers
