New Zealand WWII Knuckle Knife with Bowie Blade A1

$850.00

Exceptionally Rare Trench Fighting Knife

1 in stock

Description

An exceptionally rare World War II-era New Zealand trench knife featuring an integrated knuckle guard and distinctive Bowie-style blade — a seldom encountered variant among Commonwealth fighting knives of the period.

Unlike the more commonly seen dagger or spear-point knuckle knives, this example is fitted with a pronounced Bowie clip-point blade, offering both slashing and thrusting capability in a single, compact close-quarters combat weapon. The solid cast knuckle-duster style grip provides both hand protection and striking capability, consistent with trench and jungle warfare requirements of the Pacific Theatre.

Privately purchased or locally produced fighting knives such as this were often carried by New Zealand servicemen during WWII, and surviving examples — particularly Bowie-bladed variants — are extremely scarce today. The combination of trench knife form with Bowie fighting blade makes this a highly desirable and unusual piece for collectors of Commonwealth militaria.

Please note: No sheath present.
