US Indian Wars era Officers Sword around 1871
Maker marked Bent & Bush, Boston, Massachusetts. It is complete with metal scabbard.
The blade is etched with the U.S. and Federal eagle. The ricasso is marked Bent & Bush, Boston, Massachusetts.The blade is in very good condition for age and named to US Solder Walter C Hagar.
It has a gilt brass hilt, with semi-basket guard with oval panel starburst pattern underneath and the Great Seal of the United States on the inner hilt.The shagreen grip is intact with brass wire wrapped grip. The wire is nice and tight.
