WW1 Turkish Artillery Officers Sword with scabbard and portepee.
Many of these swords were German made and based on the C1900 Bavarian pattern from the same period.
Each side of the blade from the ricasso to midpoint has panels with etched with floral scroll. On one side there are crossed Artillery Cannons and on the other side, marked J. NIKITTS CONSTANTINOPLE” .
The blade has some pitting as can be seen. Blade length is 790 mm long, with clearly defined blood grooves.
Guard & hilt in brass. The hilt features the Turkish emblem as well as the blade.The grip is wrapped with brass wire. The plated scabbard has two rings for mounting.
Made between 1900 and 1915, I believe.
