Description
WW2 British Army Paiforce (Persian and Iraq Command) Pennant
The pennant was flown at Railhead Ordenance Depot, located at Kirkuk, Iraq. This command was formed to protect the vital oil fieds in this region and the supply lines to the Soviet Union under land-lease, as there was a real threat of the Germans attacking from the Russian Cacus at the time. After 1943, this threat had subsided.
A not often heard about theatre of the War.
There is some mothing to the flag, mostly to the centre red circle, and faded from weather, as per the photos, otherwise in good condition for age.
The pennant/flag also has original handwriting on it as seen.
