WW2 Italian Brixia Model 35 Mortor Round. Inert.
The Brixia was an small-sized, rapid-firing Italian light Mortar.The Brixia Modello 35 provided light supporting fire to infantry companies. It was widely used, and saw action on every major Italian front. (North Africa, Balkans, East Africa, Southern Russia, France) and was employed to defend the homeland against invading allied troops.
The inert internals for this 45mm calibre mortor round are still present, though the external tab is not. It has a makers name on one of the fins.
This round was often mistakenly called a red devil by collectors, which was the Italian hand grenade not the mortor round.
